Polymesse 2025

Overview

You study at ETH and want to help out at one of the largest academic job fairs? Get a glimpse behind the scenes of a big three-day event with over 5000 visitors? Or just earn some money? Then apply here for a job at the Polymesse!

Information about the individual shifts can be found by clicking on the button to the right of the respective titles. Each shift is paid with an hourly wage of 25 CHF. Please make sure to be at the designated meeting point fifteen minutes before the shift starts.

Information

Due to administrative and legally reasons, we can only employ EU/EFTA citizens (CH or with B- or C-permit) for the helper shifts. Furthermore, only persons who are also enrolled at ETH can register.

Please note that VSETH will provide you with an employment contract for the duration of your helper shifts. Thus, we need some additional information from you, so please fill out this form. Also, make sure that you use your ETH email address for both the registration and the form, so that we can link your data with your selection.

We cannot consider your registration without a completed form.
If you do not fill in the form BEFORE your shift, we may not be able to employ you, hence pay you!

The small print

The data you provide will only be used in the context of the Polymesse and for the processing of wage payments. If you cancel your registration for a shift, your data will be deleted.

In case of unexcused late arrival, non-appearance or repeated failure to follow instructions, we reserve the right to exclude you from subsequent shifts for which you are still registered.

Fair Assistance

Overview
If you are wondering how all the material from the companies arrives at the booths, you will find the answer here and during this shift.

In the morning shift, you will greet the companies arriving with their cars, then help them unloading their stuff and transport it to their booth. The afternoon shift is similar, here you help with the return transport.

Additionally, at the end of each day, the booths have to be rebuilt and prepared for the next day, because then other companies with different requirements will come.

Dresscode
You can wear comfortable, casual clothes, but you should make an overall clean and neat impression. After all, you are the first or last person the company representatives will come into contact with at the fair.

Meeting Point
We meet on the Polyterrasse in front of the tent.

Dresscode
Your shift will take place outside, so warm and comfortable clothing will be an advantage here. Additionally, we will provide you with a high-visibility vest.

Reserve

With over 1000 hours of helper shifts in total, it is quite likely that there will be a few absences. Since these volunteer shifts are essential for the fair, we need to plan for appropriate replacements.

If you sign up for one of the backup shifts, you agree that we will ask you for this shift at very short notice.

Please note: Signing up for a backup helper shift does not automatically mean that we need you as stand-in on that day. These shifts are only intended to let us find a replacement quickly in case of an absence.

Please be available and ready to fill in at short notice. As compensation, you will receive an hourly wage of 30 CHF (instead of 25 CHF) if your backup shift is used. You won't get any money if your shift is not used.

If you are ONLY registered for a reserve shift, you do not need to fill out the data entry form. This will only become relevant when you have actually worked for the Polymesse.
